How to get to the Malecón by metro

Get off at Centro de los Héroes station (Line 1), the nearest stop. From there, to reach the Malecón it is about a 4-minute walk.
The Malecón is very long: for stretches further east you can use Amín Abel Hasbún station.

The Malecón — George Washington Avenue — is Santo Domingo’s great seafront promenade: kilometres of walkway facing the Caribbean, lined with palms, the Obelisk (El Macho), plazas, hotels and the marina. It hosts the big concerts and the carnival. The nearest metro station is Centro de los Héroes, the southern terminus of Line 1, just a few minutes’ walk from the western end of the Malecón.
