What this site is
metrodesantodomingo.com is an independent guide to the Santo Domingo Metro. It is not OPRET’s website and we are not affiliated with it: we do not sell tickets or top up cards, and we cannot handle a complaint or a refund.
We put in one place a page for every line and station, fares, timetables, the map and a route planner. The site is funded by advertising.
What the October 2026 review found
On October 11, 2026 we checked the whole site against what OPRET publishes.
Section 2C was missing. It opened on 24 February 2026 and takes Line 2 to Pablo Adón Guzmán, in Los Alcarrizos. None of it was here: not its 5 stations, not the map, not the route planner. Each station now has its page and the network comes to 38 stations.
The interchange was wrong. We said the lines meet at Concepción Bona; they meet at Juan Pablo Duarte.
Hours and journey times. At weekends the service runs until 22:00, not 20:00, and the end-to-end trips take about 25 and 26 minutes, not 45 and 37.
The map had stations in the wrong order and no 2C. We redrew it from the real coordinates; it is not the official map.
Works. We described Lines 3 and 4 as “under construction”, which OPRET is not building. What is actually under way is the 1B extension towards Punta de Villa Mella.
What is live and what is not
Nothing on this site is live. The board only shows whether the metro is within its published hours; for disruptions, OPRET is the source.
Where each fact comes from
Lines, stations, routes and times: OPRET’s own pages (opret.gob.do), checked in October 2026.
Fares: official announcements by OPRET and the Presidency.
The map: a diagram of ours; positions are approximate.
When we get it wrong
We fix it and we say what was fixed — this page is the example. If something does not add up, write to [email protected].
This site is run by the team at GoRandom, a small group based in the Basque Country in Spain who do two things that go together better than they sound: travel, and build websites.
Santo Domingo is not yet one of the cities we have set foot in — we are up to twenty and we move slowly. We would rather say so than pretend otherwise: what you read here does not come from our memories, it comes from what the operator publishes and from checking work we can show you.
The other half of what we know how to do is web development, and this site is the excuse to put the two together. We do not leave it sitting there: every fare and every timetable carries its source and the date we checked it, and they get revised when the operator changes something. The last full review was on October 11, 2026, when we added the 2C section and checked lines, stations, hours and fares against OPRET.
He decides what goes up, checks the data before it does, and answers the email. If you find a fare that has expired or a timetable that no longer holds, there is a specific person to write to.
